Cheerio, not goodbye!

This time last year, I was resting from a season of shows. Having made a new(ish) group of friends on the set of Oz, I found myself transform from a Lion, to a Cow… some might say they are recognisable traits in me! In fact I was only half a cow (the back end – if you must). I also formed part of the chorus ‘villagers’ and we filled the auditorium with songs such as ‘All Over the World” “Dance the Night Away” and this Oliver classic “Be back soon”.

I honestly don’t think I have sung this song since Year 7, and that was, well, a long time ago! The song ended Act 1, so serves as a song to the audience as well, “we’ll be back soon!”.

Buckets, Goals & Habits

I ended 2020 with a list of ideas, these ideas became goals, habits and projects to fill what looked like to be another rollercoaster year. I am thankful that I cautioned myself to think within the limits (mostly) of a socially distant year, sprinkled with a few longer term, hopeful ideas! I found myself playing with the word “Strong” or “Strengthen”. Last year my word has been fruitful, and though it hadn’t seemed so, when I looked closely, despite the chaos, fruit had been grown. pulling all the strings together, I drew out my goals, habits, and a bucket list, of more novelty: my 21 for 21!

I do love a list

On that list, and very much in my heart, I knew that it was time for a change with Arrow & Pen.

What’s in a name?

For a while now, I have wanted to put more into what I do with this little platform, so the idea of relaunching the blog with a new look was already on the cards. Those of you who have read with me for a while now, might even remember that before Arrow & Pen, it was From The Armchair (that one changed because the armchair that I wrote from went away). Just as I like a good list, I also like a change every once in a while. Names are important the me, this blog name was based on a prophetic word. Through some emotional events that happened at the back end of 2019, I wanted to bring the life back to the original meaning behind the name, and that meant, keeping it just for me again.

Names are important to me, and I had a name, but that name had a different owner. I actually cried, I had set me heart on it. Yet, as a couple of people (thanks Karen & Amy) encouraged me, something new will come. Something new came….

Pip Pip, Cheerio!

So on Friday, this blog will disappear for a makeover. It will reappear with a new name, look and secret ingredient on the 1st March! I look forward to seeing you there!

thank you for joining me on the journey, here’s to the next act
